Actor John Abraham has announced his next film, its first poster and release date. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, John shared the poster. The film has been titled Vedaa and will be released in July this year.
The poster shows actress Sharvari Wagh standing behind John, who looks fierce and has tears in her eyes. Weapons also appear in the poster. Sharing the poster, John wrote: “Immerse yourself in the world of #Vedaa. Released in cinemas on July 12!” Nikkhil Advani directed the film.
About Vedaa
The name of the movie is “high energy movie”. It marks the reunion of John and Nikhil after their films Salaam-e-Ishq and Batla House. Abhishek Banerjee also stars in Vedaa. The filmmaker directed Vedaa from Aseem Arora’s script. The film is jointly produced by Zee Studios, Advani’s Emay Entertainment and John’s JA Entertainment.
“Vedaa” was shot in Kashmir
In December last year, John finalized his plan to shoot “Vedaa” in Kashmir. The film was shot in Srinagar and Anantnag district of South Kashmir. In a video posted on X by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department, John said that his experience in Kashmir was wonderful. “We shot in Ashmukkam. It’s a wonderful place. There are 240 more. You can see where I live, on the outskirts of Anantnag, it’s a wonderful place. Kashmir, it’s a wonderful place. The song,” the actor said. She was wearing a pheran, a traditional Kashmiri dress.
John’s last film
John was last seen in Patan directed by Siddharth Anand. The movie was released on January 25. The film also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Pathaan also stars Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in guest roles, along with Salman Khan. The film broke many box office records and managed to become one of the highest-grossing films in the Indian industry.
